Check 1, 2 PA Hire - Hire Terms and Conditions


These Terms and Conditions take effect from 1 January 2016 and are subject to review without notice. The publication of the Terms and Conditions of Check 1, 2 PA Hire on its website and any documentation shall be deemed to be acceptance by the Hirer.


Payment in full is required before or on delivery. Payment may be made by cash, direct debit, credit card and cheque (for incorporated associations only). Check 1, 2 PA Hire will establish seven (7) day accounts for customers where a purchase order is provided. Check 1, 2 PA Hire reserves the right to cancel the account status of Hirers in default of the above and demand and expect immediate full payment. Prices shown are subject to change without notice. Delivery, set up and collection cost is included within the greater Brisbane metropolitan area. Extra delivery charges may apply for northern and southern Brisbane bayside areas, Sunshine and Gold Coasts and Ipswich. Difficult load in arrangements (eg excessive stairs or distances) may require extra crew and may therefore attract a delivery fee. Minimum $50.00 order required. The Hirer is required to provide personal identification and credit card details or a security deposit (fully refundable if there is no damage to equipment or there are no extra hire charges incurred) where equipment is collected by the Hirer.

Liability of Hirer

The Hirer assumes all responsibility for damage to and/or loss of hire equipment whilst in their care and until it is collected by Check 1, 2 PA Hire. All equipment is to be returned in a clean condition. All leads to be correctly coiled. Decorations, heating or cooking equipment of any kind are not to be used around the sound equipment, and no drinks or food to be placed on or near the sound equipment.  Hirer is responsible for any injury that may occur to persons or damage to property over the hire period. In the case of the Hirer setting up the equipment, Check 1, 2 PA Hire takes no responsibility for injury to any persons arising from the equipment. The equipment is not to be moved from agreed hire address without the prior consent of Check 1, 2 PA Hire in writing. Whilst all possible care is taken when setting up equipment, Check 1, 2 PA Hire is not responsible for equipment causing any injury to persons or damage to property in the event of abnormal weather conditions. The Hirer must ensure that the equipment is used in a careful, skilful and proper manner, and only by persons having the appropriate qualifications and experience and who are familiar with the equipment. In the event of loss or damage to the hire equipment, the Hirer agrees to pay Check 1, 2 PA Hire all costs and expenses of such repair or replacement, which is at the discretion of Check 1, 2 PA Hire, and to pay rental at the current rate prevailing at the time for such period of time that the loss or damaged equipment is repaired or replaced. Insurance for full replacement value of the equipment is the responsibility of the Hirer. The hire period and the Hirer’s liabilities commence when the equipment leaves Check 1, 2 PA Hire’s premises and terminates when the equipment is returned in good condition.

Delivery, Set Up, Collection and Return

Delivery, set up and collection times must be adhered to otherwise additional charges may be incurred. Equipment, materials or expendables hire from Check 1, 2 PA Hire will be collected from or returned to Check 1, 2 PA Hire premises at its place of business during normal business hours unless otherwise arranged with the management. Hired equipment is normally available for collection from Check 1, 2 PA Hire between 8.30am and 5.00pm on the business day prior to the commencement of the hire period, or otherwise by agreement. Return of hire equipment should be by 5.30pm on the final day of the hire period or otherwise by agreement. Hired equipment must be returned to Check 1, 2 PA Hire securely and not left outside the premises.  Check 1, 2 PA Hire will make every effort to collect the equipment as soon as possible at the end of the event or at a suitable time agreed with the Hirer.  Check 1, 2 PA Hire uses only tested and tagged electrical cables and power boards. Check 1, 2 PA Hire will take every precaution to ensure that the equipment is set up in a safe and secure manner. Once set up, the equipment is not to be moved by the Hirer without prior agreement of Check 1, 2 PA Hire.

Changes and Cancellation

All orders cancelled prior to 24 hours of the hire period will be issues with a full refund. No refund will be issued in the event of a cancelation after delivery has been made and the equipment is fully set up. For account paying customers, payment of the full invoice value will still apply in these circumstances. Any delays caused or additional unplanned set up time required by performers and their equipment may incur additional charges. Check 1,2 PA Hire will not be held responsible for any delays to programs, events or timetables under these circumstances. The period between midnight Friday and midnight Sunday is not calculated as part of 48 hours’ notice. When a hire is based on a discounted or negotiated rate, and the term of the hire is reduced or the number of items of equipment is reduced, then the rate shall revert to Check 1, 2 PA Hire’s current standard rates for the hire equipment from the beginning of the hire period. When an order is placed with Check 1, 2 PA Hire for the purchase of equipment or materials and is cancelled prior to delivery of the goods, then Check 1, 2 PA Hire will charge either the quoted amount if within seven days of available delivery or 20% of the value of the goods if within 30 days of available delivery.

Interstate Hire

A minimum of two days will be charged for interstate hire.
